ISLAMABAD: Advocate Akhtar Hussain, a member of the Judicial Commission, has resigned. He submitted his resignation in response to the recent transfers of judges and issues related to seniority.
Advocate Akhtar Hussain, who was a member of the Judicial Commission, has resigned from his position. He submitted his resignation to the Chairman of the Judicial Commission Justice Yahya Afridi.
The resignation states that, I resign from the membership of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan. The Pakistan Bar has nominated me as a member of the Judicial Commission three times under the Constitution of 1973, and I have performed my responsibilities to the best of my abilities.
He stated that, I will no longer continue working on the recent disputes related to judicial appointments and resigns from the membership of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.
The resignation text further stated that I will continue to make efforts for the autonomy of the judiciary and democratic institutions. I would like to thank the Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council for their trust, and I request that, in accordance with the Constitution, a new member be nominated in my place.
I am submitting a copy of my resignation to the Pakistan Bar Council for the nomination of a new member, and I extend my greetings to the esteemed members of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.
