Court To Hear Stampede Case At Factory In Karachi Which Claims 12 Lives

Karachi: Stampede case in S.I.T.E area at a factory will be heard in the Court of Judicial Magistrate West.

Owner of the factory and other accused will be presented before the court for taking their remand while all the accused have an allegation of observing carelessness in the unfortunate incident.

It is apprised in the case that Zakat had been distributed every year in the factory. During the distribution of the money at once stampede happened and one dozen people lost their lives.

Yesterday 12 people were died and several injured amid a stampede at a factory at the Naurus intersection in Karachi’s SITE area, the latest incident in which people lost their lives to seek free edibles.

The incident occurred while people were gathered at a dyeing factory in the city’s industrial area to collect ration — which is part of charity drives that Karachiites hold every Ramadan to help the needy.

Those killed in the incident include eight women and three children, rescue sources and police officials said.
