Peshawar: Chief of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam Sami( JUI-S) Hamid Ul Haq has embraced martyrdom in the suicide attack on mosque of Akora Khattak seminary during Friday prayers, Cheif Secretary Shahab Ali Shah apprised.
Inspector General (IG) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has said that three to four people were killed while 10 to 20 people sustained injuries.
The IG apprised that Chief of JUI-S was target of the suicide blast.
Earlier, a powerful explosion denoted in Akora Khatak seminary’s mosque during the Friday prayers while many others injured.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Noshehra apprised rescue services arrived at the crime spot. While injured have been shifted to the hospital.
The DPO informed that the blast at the seminary was suicide attack.
An emergency has been imposed in the Lady Reading hospital in Peshawar, the hospital administration said.
This seminary belongs to late Shaheed Molana Sami Ul Haq, chief of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam Sami( JUI-S). The cleric was brutally murdered back in 2018.
He was martyred despite he was in coalition government with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
