ISLAMABAD:Justice Ayesha Malik of the Lahore High Court (LHC) was not appointed as Supreme Court (SC) Judge as Judicial Commission (JC) meeting could not agree on her name.
As per details, judicial commission meeting concluded inconclusively as the vote count ended in a tie.
Four votes were cast in favor of Justice Ayesha Malik s appointment as Supreme Court Judge. Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Law Minister and Attorney General voted in the favor.
While Justice Maqbool Baqir, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice (retd) Dost Muhammad Khan and Pakistan Bar Council representative Akhtar Hussain voted against her appointment.
