ISLAMABAD: Justice Ayesha Malik administered the oath to Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, who has been appointed as the acting Chief Justice of Pakistan. The ceremony took place at the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court.
The oath-taking was attended by prominent justices including Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Shahid Bilal, and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi. Punjab Advocate General Amjad Pervez and several senior lawyers were also present at the event.
It is noteworthy that Chief Justice Yahya Khan Afridi is currently on Hajj and is expected to return to Pakistan by June 10. Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will serve as the acting Chief Justice until his return.
