ISLAMABAD: Justice Mansoor Ali Shah raised an objection on the intra-court appeal bench in the contempt of court case against the Additional Registrar in the Supreme Court.
Justice Mansoor Ali has written a letter to the Judges Committee objecting to the joining of Justice Jamal Mandukhel and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar in the bench.
In the letter, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said that a judicial commission meeting was held on November 23, after which the Chief Justice called for an informal meeting of the committee in his chamber.
In the meeting, it was suggested that a 5-member bench should be made on the basis of seniority for intra-court appeals
He said, it was suggested that the judges who are also members of the committee should not be included in the bench. The Chief Justice said that he would like to make a 4-member bench, the secretary asked me for approval of 6 member bench, I told the secretary that I have objection, will reply in the morning.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said, secretary had become a six -member bench at 10:28 PM .
Senior Judge Mansoor Ali Shah of the Supreme Court said, two committees decided to withdraw the case of bench powers from us, there are questions only on the decision of the judges included in the committees. My objections should be made part of the record.
