ISLAMABAD: Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb assumed his role as a Supreme Court judge on Monday after taking the oath at a ceremony held at the Supreme Court. Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi officiated the oath-taking ceremony.
The occasion was attended by several esteemed members of the judiciary, including Supreme Court judges such as Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan.
Notable figures present included Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar, Federal Constitutional Court Justice K.K. Agha, and Federal Shariat Court Chief Justice Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman.
Members of the Judicial Commission, including Advocate Ahsan Bhoon, were also in attendance along with various officers and staff from the Supreme Court.
During the event, the Chief Justice and other judges extended their congratulations to Justice Aurangzeb on taking up his constitutional responsibilities and expressed their commitment to supporting him in preserving judicial and constitutional principles.
It is worth noting that the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) approved the elevation of Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb to the position of permanent Supreme Court judge last week.
