The spokesman further added that PAT chief invited Kamal to join the APC that is scheduled to be held on December 30, and PSP head ensured Qadri of his presence.

After assuring Qadri of his party’s support, Kamal said that it is imperative that those responsible for the Model Town incident are brought to justice otherwise the poor, the weak and the marginalised will never be able to get their rights. It is important to note that following the release of Justice Najfi’s Model Town report, Qadri had called for an APC to discuss the Model Town massacre and the findings of the report. The meeting was scheduled to take place on December 24, but the date was later changed.

Earlier this month, PSP became the latest political party to pledge support to Tahirul Qadri’s quest for justice in the Model Town incident in which 14 sympathisers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) party were killed. It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri will be meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan today. The meeting between chairman PTI Imran and Khan and head of PAT Tahirul Qadri will be held in afternoon at Minhajul Qura’an secretariat in Model Town here. The two leaders will discuss matters pertaining to All Parties Conference called by Qadri over the post- Baqir Najfi judicial report of Model Town tragedy and national politics. The PAT has called the APC at Minhajul Qura’an Secretariat here on December 30.

Qadri has extended the APC date for two days aimed to contact more political parties to mount pressure on Punjab government for his resignation before the deadline given by the Qadri in his last press conference.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), PPP, Awami Muslim League, PML-Q and PSP have already been ensured Qadri  for their full support on his demand of resignation of CM Punjab and provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah so that the deceases families could get justice.

The APC will draft the strategy against government in context of Model Town judicial report.

Qadri has started calling leaders of different political and religious parties to invite them for his all-parties conference over the report of Justice Baqir Najafi on the Model Town incident.

The all-parties conference will be held at the Awami Tehreek Secretariat.

Besides Imran, sources said, Qadri contacted over the phone leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. They assured the PAT leader of attending the conference. Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq has also been invited to the APC.Qadri has called the APC against the incumbent government as he has earlier demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah to step down from their positions in light of the Model Town judicial commission report.

The judicial commission report also known as Justice Baqir Najfi commission enquiry report was constituted on the killings of at least 14 people in police action against PAT workers during an ‘anti-encroachment operation’ on June 17, 2014.According to the report, police tried to cover up the facts regarding who gave orders to open fire on protesters. “It is shocking to note that everyone has deliberately but unsuccessfully tried to cover each other from possible adverse legal effects.”

The commission observed in its report: “The level of cooperation in digging out the truth is that no police official from top to bottom, whether actively participated in the operation or not, did utter a single word about the person under whose command the police resorted to firing upon the PAT workers.”
