Karachi: 5 killed in rain related incidents

Stormy rains have taken five lives in Karachi. A person near Zia Uddin Hospital electrocuted while deceased’s body  lay with poles for an hour, at last , Edhi volunteers took his body.

Another man electrocuted in North Karachi while three-years-old child injured While a roof of house caved in MPR colony of Manghopir killing one man and injuring a woman. The same sought of incident occurred in Civil Lines where a man died.

As heavy rain lashed the city the most of city roads turned into pond while rain water entered low lying areas of Shah Faisal Colony, Manzoor Colony, Mahmoodabad and Liaqutabad.

As many as K-electric 180 feeders tripped after the thundershowers while the K-electric spokesman has ensured that all the feeder will be restored as rains end while the citizens have been advised to not to go closer to electricity polls.

Rains  lashed Karachi for second consecutive day today. Rains lashed entire city including Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Malir, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Korangi, North Karachi, Saddar, Karsaz, North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Shah Faisal Colony.

According to Meteorological Department, rains recorded in different parts of the city in mm are, Karachi Airport 54, University Road 34, Landhi 26, North Karachi 13, Shahra-e-Faisal 10, North Karachi and Gulshan-e-Hadeed 5 in each area.

After instruction of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, work to remover water from underpasses and roads, has been started.
