Karachi announces traffic plan for 12 Rabi ul Awal processions

KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police have outlined a detailed traffic management plan for the upcoming 12 Rabi ul Awal processions scheduled in the city tomorrow.

According to officials, all SSPs will oversee procession security and traffic arrangements in their respective districts. Two major processions will commence from Memon Masjid in the afternoon. The first procession will start at 2:30 pm and will end at Aram Bagh Masjid. The main procession, led by Maulana Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, will depart at 3:00 pm from Memon Masjid and conclude at Nishtar Park.

Entry for all vehicles on MA Jinnah Road will be restricted, except for those with official stickers indicating participation in the processions.

Alternative Routes for District Central:

Vehicles from Nazimabad can take Lasbela Chowk via Nishtar Road towards Garden.

Vehicles from Liaquatabad may proceed from Teen Hatti to Lasbela Chowk and then turn left towards Central Jail.

From Hassan Square to PPP Chowrangi, motorists can use Kashmir Road, Society Light Signal, and Jail Flyover to reach Teen Hatti and then Nishtar Road (Lasbela Chowk).

No traffic will be allowed from Guru Mandir to Numaish.

For District East:

Vehicles coming from Shahrah-e-Faisal towards Numaish should use Shahrah-e-Quaideen (near Noorani Kebab), then turn right at Society Light Signal onto Kashmir Road.

Vehicles from Jamshed Road heading to Guru Mandir can be diverted via Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar.

For District South:

Traffic from Garden Zoo to MA Jinnah Road may be diverted from Uncle Sarya to Gul Plaza or Coast Guard near Holy Family Hospital.

During the procession, vehicles moving from Lucky Star to MA Jinnah Road via Empress Market will be rerouted from Saddar Dawakhana toward PPP Chowrangi.

Vehicles heading to Burns Road from Abdullah Haroon Road will be diverted at MR Kiyani Chowk.

No traffic will be permitted from MR Kiyani Chowk to Court Road (Kabootar Chowrangi); instead, vehicles will be diverted from Arts Council (Strachan Road) to Pakistan Chowk.

Traffic from Shahrah-e-Liaquat towards Burns Road will be redirected from Aram Bagh signal to Pakistan Chowk.

The traffic police also announced a ban on all heavy and commercial vehicles within the city on 12th Rabi ul Awal. Citizens are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays and ensure smooth travel during the processions.
