KARACHI: A Karachi court has acquitted Natasha Danish in a case concerning alleged drug use linked to the fatal Karsaz road accident.
The court observed that the medical evidence presented in the case did not establish that Natasha had consumed drugs, noting that no signs of narcotic use were found in her blood test.
The latest ruling comes after Natasha had already been acquitted in the main case related to the Karsaz accident.
Fatal Karsaz crash
The accident occurred on August 19, 2024, when an SUV collided with several vehicles on Karachi’s Karsaz Road.
The crash claimed the lives of 26-year-old Aamna Arif and her 60-year-old father, Imran Arif. Another person injured in the incident remained in critical condition.
Police initially registered a case against Natasha in connection with the deaths of the father and daughter.
A separate drug-related case was subsequently registered after police said her medical examination indicated that she was under the influence of methamphetamine, commonly known as crystal meth.
According to the FIR, Natasha was travelling from her residence in DHA Scheme-I to her in-laws’ home, a journey of around three to four kilometres, when the accident took place.
The latest acquittal relates specifically to the drug-use allegations.
