RAWALPINDI: In the 27th match of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, Karachi Kings defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 23 runs to qualify for the playoffs.
The match was played in Rawalpindi, where Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and chose to field first.
Batting first, Karachi Kings posted a massive total of 237 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Captain David Warner scored 86 runs, while James Vince contributed 72. Khushdil Shah remained unbeaten on 43 and Mohammad Nabi on 26.
For Peshawar Zalmi, Luke Wood took 2 wickets, while Ali Raza and Arif Yaqoob picked up one wicket each.
In response to the 238-run target, Peshawar Zalmi managed to score 214 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Babar Azam led the charge with a brilliant 94, while Saim Ayub added 47 runs.
With this win, Karachi Kings have secured a spot in the playoffs, joining Quetta Gladiators who had already qualified.
Islamabad United have 10 points from 9 matches, Lahore Qalandars have 9 points from 9 matches, while Multan Sultans have been eliminated from the tournament.
