ISLAMABAD: In a move that highlights the continued confidence in Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) growth, Karachi Kings and Islamabad United have secured their franchise ownership rights for another decade. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday that both franchises successfully renewed their agreements, factoring in the updated market valuation.

This renewal reflects the strong belief of partners in the league’s expanding commercial appeal and robust brand recognition, especially as the PSL prepares to expand to eight teams from Season 11 onwards, the PCB’s statement noted.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing partnership, emphasizing the vital role both franchises play in the league’s development and Pakistan’s cricketing landscape. He praised Ali Naqvi’s leadership, describing him as a dedicated partner whose professionalism has significantly contributed to the growth of both the league and their franchise.

Naqvi further stated that this decision to renew their franchise rights underscores the trust in PSL’s strategic vision, its trajectory of growth, and its long-term prospects.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer also lauded Karachi Kings and Islamabad United for their unwavering commitment and positive influence on the league. He expressed hope that both teams will continue to go above and beyond in supporting cricket development and nurturing emerging talent.“Renewing these partnerships energizes us for a promising future,” Naseer remarked, appreciating their ongoing dedication to the league’s success.
