Karachi: Karachi Metropolitan Cooperation (KMC) has decided to allow free parking across Karachi.
Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab said that soon no fees will be received on the parking sites while the decision has been taken in the interests of the Public.
The Mayor said that now the KMC has become independent as it has a worth of Rs two billion its accounts.
Now, the KMC doesn’t need Rs 50 to 40 million, the Mayor said.
He said that soon notification will be issued and burdern of charge parking to be removed from the shoulders of the people.
He apprised that those charging parking fees on the name of the KMC will be arrested. He said that as many as 106 main roads the parking fees will not be charged from 46 parking sites.
The Mayor informed that charging of parking fees will retain in 25 towns and 6 cantonments boards.
