KARACHI: A young man was killed in a gunfire exchange outside a bank in Clifton, Karachi, during a robbery. The assailants managed to escape with Rs. 25 lakh out of the Rs. 50 lakh stolen from the bank.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South, Mahzoor Ali, stated that a young man named Akash, along with his father and a companion, had withdrawn Rs. 50 lakh from a private bank near Tلوار. When they reached the bank’s outside area in Boat Basin to deposit the money, the robbers attacked their car.
According to police, during the incident, the bank’s security guard opened fire, prompting the robbers to return fire. As a result, the young man, Akash, was killed. The robbers then fled with a bag containing Rs. 25 lakh.
Officials have said that thorough investigations into all aspects of the incident have been launched, and the suspects will be brought to justice soon.
The police confirmed that the young man, Akash, was a doctor. He was 28 years old and was exiting the bank with his father after withdrawing the money. The security guard who fired during the incident has been taken into custody.
