Karachi: The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) has expanded their sit-in protests from Numaish Chowrangi to various locations throughout Karachi in response to the ongoing situation in Parachinar.
Protests are ongoing at various locations, including Abu al-Hasan Isfahani Road, Abbasi Town, University Road, and outside Samama Shopping Center. Additionally, sit-ins are being held at Five Star Chowrangi in North Nazimabad, along the National Highway, and at Malir 15 Bridge.
The traffic police have reported demonstrations occurring at Numaish Chowrangi, Shahrah-e-Faisal near Chota Gate, and Quaidabad.
In a speech to the demonstrators at Numaish, MWM leader Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi called on the government to take proactive measures to establish enduring peace in Kurram.
He stated that, residents of Parachinar are in the midst of a humanitarian crisis, struggling with a lack of essential supplies. During this harsh winter, many families are left vulnerable and exposed, relying on the mercy of armed groups.
On the other hand, spokesperson for the Karachi traffic police announced that alternative routes have been established, and traffic is now being redirected to service roads.
