ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris across both sides of the Line of Control and around the globe are observing Black Day today to highlight the ongoing crisis created by India’s continued unlawful occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
On October 27, 1947, Indian forces invaded Jammu and Kashmir, seizing control in direct violation of the subcontinent’s Partition Plan and against the will of the Kashmiri people.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called upon Kashmiris to observe Black Day to draw global attention towards the urgency of resolving the Kashmir issue.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Black Day is being commemorated to remind the global community about India’s illegal actions in Jammu and Kashmir.
Protest rallies have been organized to denounce the Indian military invasion on October 27, 1947, as well as the revocation of Kashmir’s special status by India’s BJP-led government on August 5, 2019.
