ISLAMABAD: The government has significantly increased the price of kerosene oil in Pakistan by Rs70.73 per litre, effective immediately, amid rising global oil prices.
According to an official notification, the new price of kerosene has been set at Rs428.74 per litre following the latest increase.
The hike has been attributed to surging rates in the international oil market, which have put pressure on domestic fuel pricing.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to keep the prices of petrol and diesel unchanged despite the increase in kerosene rates.
