KHANPUR: At least 27 passengers died and over 50 were injured when two passenger buses clashed near Dareja Phattak [Railway gate] here.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured passengers are being shifted to Shaikh Zaid Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan.
A newly married couple is among the victims of the deadly two-bus clash.
Seven members of the same family are among the dead while three others are among the injured.
One of the ill-fated bus was on its way to Bhawalpur from Karachi while the other was on its way from Faisalabad to Sadiqabad.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was expressed deep sorrow and grief at the loss of precious lives in the accident and has offered condolence to the families of the deceased. He has also issued directions to provide the best medical treatment to the wounded.
