PESHAWAR: An official from Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced that hydrocarbon deposits have been uncovered in the Nushpabalak region of Kohat.
The company revealed that the Bragzai X-1 well is projected to yield approximately 2,280 barrels of oil each day, along with a daily production of 5.6 million cubic feet of natural gas. This marks the first hydrocarbon discovery from the Kingeriali formation within the Nushpabalak block. The drilling operation for the Bragzai X-1 well was successfully completed at a depth of 5,170 meters.
According to OGDCL, the company owns a 65% stake as the operator of the Nushpabalak block, with PPL holding 30% and GHPCL 5%. The official highlighted that this discovery will boost OGDCL’s total hydrocarbon reserves and aid in fulfilling Pakistan’s energy requirements, supporting the country’s ongoing energy development efforts.
