PESHAWAR: The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Khan Kundi, has expressed his appreciation for the decision to declare Peshawar and New York as sister cities.
He highlighted that this partnership will promote mutual cooperation across various fields including economic development, education, and skills training. The sister city relationship with New York is expected to provide young people with new opportunities in education and technology.
Governor Kundi also noted that this designation will facilitate better access to jobs in emerging industries. The New York City Mayor’s Office has forwarded a draft agreement to formalize the partnership, calling it a commendable example of international urban collaboration.
The establishment of this sister city link aims to deepen ties between Peshawar and New York, paving the way for joint efforts in education, cultural exchange, commerce, and other key areas, thereby strengthening the relationship between the two cities.
