KUWAIT CITY: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced that its military successfully intercepted a total of 13 ballistic missiles and 17 drones that crossed into Kuwaiti airspace over populated regions, with debris from some of these projectiles falling in various areas.
During a press briefing, Brigadier General Saud Al-Otayan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, characterized the incident as part of what he termed “Iranian hostile actions” against Kuwait. He reaffirmed that the armed forces remain vigilant and are continuously implementing operational measures to defend national sovereignty and security.
Another defense official, Brigadier General Saud Al-Otaibi, reported that the attack targeted civilian and critical infrastructure, notably Kuwait International Airport, leading to casualties and injuries.
The authorities strongly urged the public to steer clear of the affected zones and warned against capturing or sharing footage of interception efforts or debris, citing concerns over public safety and the potential violation of official directives.
