Lahore court extends interim bail of Rajab Butt, Nadeem Nani Wala

LAHORE: A sessions court in Lahore extended the interim bail of YouTubers Rajab Butt, Nadeem Mubarak, and others until February 16 in a case involving the promotion of online gambling applications. Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Qureshi presided over the hearing of their bail petitions, during which the accused appeared in court.

The investigating officer requested more time to submit the necessary case records. In response, the court directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to complete its investigation promptly and provide the required documents. Consequently, interim bail for the accused was extended to February 16.

The NCCIA has officially registered a case against Rajab Butt, Nadeem Mubarak, and other suspects, accusing them of encouraging the use of online gambling platforms. Strict security measures were implemented at the sessions court for the proceedings, and the accused were brought under heavy police escort.

Meanwhile, a separate local court in Lahore was unable to proceed with framing charges against TikToker Ducky Bhai, Aroob Jatoi, and others involved in a similar case concerning gambling application promotions. The district court hearing was postponed to February 9, as Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo was on leave.

The accused individuals were initially summoned for indictment, and charges had already been outlined during a previous hearing.
