Lahore sees drop in toxic smog levels, Ranked on 2nd most polluted city globally

Lahore: Toxic smog levels in Lahore and other cities across Punjab have reportedly dropped today.

Lahore ranked 2nd most polluted city in world with 497 Air Quality Index reading.

Bahawalpur ranked as the second most polluted city in Pakistan with an AQI of 455, followed by Rahim Yar Khan in third place with an AQI of 376.

Multan secured the fourth spot, registering an AQI of 363.

New Delhi, India’s capital, is grappling with dangerously high levels of air pollution, as the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) reached a severe 1320 points.

The toxic smog blanketing the region has forced local authorities to take drastic measures, with schools shifting to online classes starting Monday until further notice.

Hazardous air quality poses serious health risks, particularly to vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing respiratory conditions.
