Lahore (September 6, 2017): Though rains have turned the weather pleasant in many cities across the Punjab including provincial capital Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Kallar Kahar, Pinsdi Bhattian and adjoining areas it has also inundated low-lying areas of the city and cut off power due to tripping of feeders.
The heavy rains with gusty winds that lashed the just a short while ago also disrupted power supply to many areas of the city leaving the residents in dark as 110 feeders tripped during and after the rains.
The rain is expected to continue lashing the city intermittently over the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, heavy rains in Kallar Kahar, Pindi Bhattian, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala and surrounding areas have also helped bringing the mercury down to provide relief to the people from humidity.
The heavy rains in Faisalabad has also brought people relief but it has resulted in intermittent tripping of power feeders for the extreme inconvenience of the residents of many areas where there is not power.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has directed the concerned departments to use all available resources to tackle the situation after the heavy rains.
