LAHORE: Lahore’s long-awaited Basant celebrations drew international attention as diplomats from the United States and the United Kingdom joined locals in marking the return of the iconic spring festival.
After a hiatus of nearly 20 years, Basant has been revived in the provincial capital under tight safety measures, restoring a tradition closely tied to Lahore’s cultural heritage.
Though the celebrations were limited in scale and carefully supervised, the event attracted widespread participation, including foreign dignitaries.
The US delegation was headed by Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Islamabad.
