On eve of Jumat-ul-Wida, large gatherings would be observed across the country today, strict security arrangements have been made for this event.
Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal and IG Sindh have instructed for extraordinary security measures in the province while 6,000 police personnel for Masjid and Imambargah in Lahore, 12,00 police officials for 915 Masjid and Imambargah in Multan, however 1041 national volunteers would perform security duties today.
Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal has directed to strictly implement on security plan during Friday prayer including Taraweeh and Iftar while DIG Traffic has been directed to to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
It has been directe from IG Sindh AD Khawaja to make sure concrete and coordinated steps should be taken for the surveillance of areas under contingency plan including extraordinary arrangements of security.
According to CCPO of Lahore, ore than 6,000 police officials and soldiers would perform their responsibilities of security of Masjid and Imambargah across the district while prayer-goers to Masjid and Imambargah would be completely checked at the entrance.
He said that more than 3,000 people were arrested for Illegal weapons, seditious speeches, wall chalking including other serious charges under the National Action Plan.However, policemen dressed in plain clothes have been deployed at markets and Ramadan bazars across the city.
