Launching ceremony of PNS-M Mangro held in China

Beijing: The launching ceremony of Pakistan Navy’s third Hangor class Submarine “PNS-M Mangro” was held in China.

Deputy Chief of Naval Staff Project-2, Vice Admiral Abdul Samad, who was the chief guest at the ceremony emphasized that Pakistan Navy is committed to safeguarding national interests while promoting a secure and cooperative maritime environment.

He said Hangor-class submarines will play a vital role in maintaining the balance of power and peace and stability in the region.

Vice Admiral Abdul Samad said this project will add a new dimension to Pakistan-China friendship.

Pakistan had signed an agreement with China for the acquisition of eight Hangor-class submarines.

According to the agreement, four submarines will be built in China, while the remaining four at Karachi Shipyard under a transfer of technology arrangement.

These submarines will be equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and sensors, enabling them to engage targets at long range.
