ISLAMABAD: Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Abdul Aleem Khan on Friday attended a launching ceremony of a corvette ship constructed for Pakistan Navy in Romania.
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, a launching ceremony of a corvette ship weighs 2300 tons specifically constructed for Pakistan Navy held in Romania.
Pakistan Navy’s Vice Admiral Abdul Aleem Khan attended the ceremony as a chief guest.
This addition in the naval fleet will enhance the capabilities of the Pakistan Navy. The second ship of the series will be completed in the mid-2020.
Vice Admiral Aleem Khan applauded the quality of work being done at Damen Shipyard Romania during his visit.
It is pertinent to mention here that Corvettes are mid-range mid-sized ships which are used as multi-purpose role ships.
