WEB DESK: The legendary Sufi singer and queen of singing Abida Parveen turned 67 on Saturday (today).
She was born on 20th February 1954 in Larkana, Sindh to a family of singers and musicians.
Her father Ustad Ghulam Hyder, who was a famous musician was also her music teacher.
Abida started her singing in 1977 from Radio Pakistan Hyderabad.
Abida has sung poetry of famous Sufi poets like Baba Bullay Shah, Amir Khusru, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast, Bhagat Kabir and others.
She received many awards including, Sitara-e-Imtiaz Award, Hilal-e-Imtiaz Award and Latif Award.
