Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday annulled the notification of presenting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founding chairman Imran Khan in the anti-terrorism court through a video link on the petition of Imran Khan.
The divisional bench chaired by Justice Tariq Sheikh issued a detailed verdict of the PTI founding chairman Imran Khan petition.
As per the verdict, in physical remand presenting the accused on the video link is illegal adding according to the law the matter is to be presented to cabinet .
It said that under the terrorism laws the notification can’t be issued individually.
It further added that the crimes is of serious nature under the anti-terrorism acts but the law talks of basic rights of the accused.
Presenting an accused in the physical remand on the video link can hamper the basic rights.
