LHC orders DC Lahore to decide allowing PTI to hold rally or not till today’s evening

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday ordered Deputy Commissioner Lahore to decide till today’s evening about will the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be allowed to hold rally in Lahore tomorrow or not.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Farooq Hyder of the LHC heard the petition filed by Aliya Hamza.

Chief Secretary Punjab, Inspector General of Punjab (IG),Commissioner Deputy Commissioner appeared before the court.

On court query, government counsel that advocate General Punjab is in Islamabad while Aliya Hamza didn’t approach respect platform for the permission of the rally while the permission was not granted owing to the intelligence agencies report.

Justice Tariq Nadeem in conversation with Chief Secretary Punjab said that will it not be better to fix the place for public rally or mass gatherings adding do such a work on which people will remember you for always.

Justice Farooq Hyder remarked that we don’t expect from the IG to harass the people illegally.

Sardar Latif Khosa said that police has been deployed on his house for last one week.

Aliya Hamza following the order of the court submitted its application to the DC.While the application says that we wanted to hold rally on September 21.

For the purpose issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for holding the rally.

The court ordered the DC to decide the appeal of the Aliya Hamza till 5 pm in evening and disposed of the Aliya Hamza petition.

While the court declared a petition for not allowing the PTI rally unmaintainable and struck off the petition.
