LHC orders PFA to fulfill all legal requirements before taking action  

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday directed Punjab Food Authority (PFA) to fulfill all legal requirement while taking action against milk sellers or anyone for selling substandard or adulterated food items.  

An LHC bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heard a contempt of court petition filed by Milk Sellers Association against Director PFA Aisha Mumtaz. The Association’s counsel submitted that the PFA director was taking action without fulfilling the legal requirements. He added that due to the action of PFA, some 28 lakhs liters milk was wasted.

PFA Director Aisha Mumtaz appeared before the court. She submitted that the authority carried out on the sport test after taking samples while checking milk. She told the court that the Authority fulfilled all legal requirements before taking action against any concerns.

After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court disposed off the petition, with directives to PFA to ensure compliance with all legal requirements before taking action against anyone .
