LAHORE: The Lahore High Court is scheduled to issue its ruling tomorrow regarding the bail applications of PTI leader Imran Khan in eight cases connected to the May 9 unrest.
Court officials informed PTI supporters and media personnel inside the courtroom about the upcoming decision.A bench composed of Justice Shehbaz Rizvi and Justice Tariq Mehmood had previously reserved the verdict after hearing arguments from both sides.
It is important to note that in the aftermath of the May 9, 2023 protests and arson incidents across multiple cities, numerous cases were registered against Imran Khan. The allegations include inciting violence, causing damage to public property, and disturbing law and order.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court had scheduled a hearing on May 15 to review bail petitions filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan concerning these cases.The hearing was conducted by a two-member bench led by Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, who also called in the special prosecutor to present arguments.Imran Khan’s legal team, led by Barrister Salman Safdar, submitted the bail requests seeking relief from charges related to the arson attacks on Jinnah House, Askari Tower, and other incidents.
