Like Blackberry, the era of Nokia Phones is also going to end

WEB DESK: Nokia the most popular mobile phone in near Past, now the era of Nokia Phones is going to end.

There was a time when Nokia was the most popular mobile phone company in the world which has gone through various ups and downs over the years and now its era is nearing its end. HMD Global, the company holding the license for Nokia phones for the past 8 years, has announced that it will no longer use the Nokia name on its smart phones.

In 2016, HMD global acquired the license for Nokia phones after which Nokia smart phones re-emerged, but now like Blackberry the era of Nokia phones is also going to end. These two companies were once the biggest phone sellers but have fallen behind other companies.

In 2016, HMD Global acquired the license for Nokia phones after which Nokia smart phones re-emerged.

A statement from HMD Global said that ” although we are known as the manufacturer of Nokia phones, our vision is now moving beyond that and we will be introducing our own devices.”

The end of Nokia phones is not surprising as HMD had already indicated in 2023 that it will produce mobile devices under its own name.  HMD Global had acquired the license for Nokia phones for 10 years, so it is likely to introduce Nokia feature phones for another 2 years, but will not manufacture smart phones. It should be noted that after the decline in mobile phone sales in the 2010 s, Microsoft announced to buy Nokia in 2013, but revised this decision 2 years later
