Lion Would Roar in NA-120 on September 17: Maryam

Lahore (September 15, 2017):Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz on Friday said revenge was taken in the name of accountability while referring to Supreme Court’s disqualification of former premier Nawaz Sharif.

Daughter of the disqualified premier addressed a women’s convention in Kareem Park of Lahore.

During her speech, she said that the love of the people is an asset for life and claimed that the ‘lion would roar’ in NA-120 on September 17.

She reiterated her earlier claims that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified because he did not take income from his son.

Maryam Nawaz has said that the people should vote for the ‘lion’ if they do not approve of revenge in guise of accountability.

“Do you accept this unjust verdict?” She asked the NA-120 voters, adding “If you are against the verdict then vote for lion on September 17.”“Support Nawaz, support progress,” Maryam said to PML-N supporters.

Maryam also hailed the role of female workers of the party and remarked: “The leaders whose sisters and daughters stand with him become invincible.”

“Isn’t the load shedding situation better than it was in 2013,” the former premier’s daughter asked the supporters while referring to PML-N government’s policy of progress and development.

She urged the women to vote for Kulsoom Nawaz on September 17. She asserted that the closure to Panama Leaks case was ridiculous. Nawaz Sharif was conspired against for over four and a half years, she claimed.

Maryam Nawaz said that her father was disqualified for not earning salary from his son’s company.

She further claimed to utilise all resources possible to address the issues faced by the people of the constituency. The leader who assembles the support of the women could never be defeated, she said.

Maryam is handling the NA-120 campaign while her mother and PML-N candidate for the by-poll, Kulsoom Nawaz, undergoes treatment for lymphoma in London.By-election on the seat left vacant after Sharif’s disqualification by the Supreme Court on July 28, will be held on September 17.

A total of 44 candidates will contest the NA-120 by-poll.

Earlier, Supreme Court has dismissed all review petitions against its verdict in Panama Papers case.

The five member larger bench of the apex court headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa delivered its short judgement after completion of the hearing today.

The bench dismissed review petitions for reasons to be recorded later.

The review petitions were filed by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his children and Ishaq Dar to seek review of the Court’s decision of 28th of July this year.

The court had disqualified the former Prime Minister as Member of the National Assembly.
