Our Partnership Will Strengthen Balochistan: BAP,PTI Leaders

Islamabad (July 31, 2018): Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf and Balochistan Awami Party’s central leadership said that both the parties have reached at the consensus to form Government in centre and Balochistan together.

Addressing media outside Bani Gala after the BAP leadership meeting with Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf leaders, Jam Kamal Khan, Jehangir Khan Tareen and Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that this new partnership will strengthen Balochistan.

BAP leader Jam Kamal said, “We have made unconditional alliance with PTI.”

He said BAP will back PTI in Centre and the latter will support us in Balochistan.

Jam Kamal went on to say BAP and PTI would run the affairs of Balochistan and centre as a coalition partners.

He said his party would work with PTI for the development of Balochistan. “We’ll work as a team with the centre … This cooperation is for Pakistan,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Jahangir Tareen said PTI backs Jam Kam for Chief Minister Balochistan, adding that it is the right of BAP to bring their chief minister.

Welcoming the development, PTI leader Jahangir Tareen said the parties had agreed on all points.

“It is up to (BAP) to decide on the chief minister. PTI supports Jam Kamal as candidate for Balochistan CM slot,” he added.

PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi welcomed BAP’s decision to join hands with PTI “for the greater good of Balochistan.”“We know that there are forces out there that do not want Balochistan to prosper,” he said, adding that BAP wants to fight such “forces”.

“After today’s discussions, for the first time, I am seeing a [Balochistan] government that does wants to work with the centre and not create an air of confrontation,” Qureshi said during his brief media address.

Earlier, BAP delegation led by Jam Kamal Khan, met PTI Leadership in Bani Gala Islamabad today (Tuesday) over the matters concerning the formation of coalition government in centre and Balochistan and announced their “unconditional support” for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).Zubaida Jalal, Khalid Magsi, Ishfaq Tareen, Ehsaan Ruki and Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar were part of the BAP delegation.

BAP managed to secure four of the 272 seats in the National Assembly, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan, and emerged as the largest party in Balochistan with 15 provincial assembly seats.

Earlier on Monday evening, Jahangir Tareen contacted Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Akhter Mengal and discussed the formation of government in centre and province as well.Tareen contacted Mengal through telephone and discussed the formation of government particularly in Balochistan.
