Malala Yousafzai Says Happy To Return To Country

Islamabad (March 29, 2018): Nobel Prize winner and social and education activist Malala Yousafzai on Thursday said that she was very happy to return to the country.

Addressing Meet The Malala Programme in Islamabad in her honour, she said that she still cannot believe she is back home.

Addressing a gathering at the PM House where she held a meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi earlier today, Malala slightly broke down while talking about her return.

“I am very happy today,” she added. She shared that she has thought a lot about returning to her native land in the last five years.

The activist advocated that investment must be made in children’s education, she said, adding that Malala Fund has invested USD6 million for girls education in Pakistan. “The coming generations are the future of Pakistan.”

The young Nobel laureate remarked that the unity is the need of the hour. “All political should unite. There should be no politics when it comes to education, health and economy.”

Later, Abbasi addressed the gathering, saying to Malala that “Pakistan is your home and you are welcome to come anytime you please”.

He said that Malala is not a common person now and represents the country.He said that when she was shot in the head the situation was very different but after sacrifices of over 6000 soldiers, 25000 policemen and other paramilitary forces, peace has been brought in the country.
