ISLAMABAD: The NAB has insisted an accountability court of Islamabad to initiate proceedings of proclaimed offender against forme MD PSO, Shahid Ul Islam accused in the LNG case.
Judge Azam Khan of the AC Islamabad heard the LNG case. Former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and OGRA Chairperson Uzma Adil appeared in court for the LNG reference.
NAB has decided to file a supplementary reference against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
During a hearing of the LNG case at an Islamabad accountability court on Thursday, NAB asked Judge Azam Khan for time to file the reference. It has been given till June 11.
During the hearing, Abbasi’s lawyer argued that NAB had only filed a supplementary reference in the case. The NAB prosecutor rebutted that they could not file a final reference yet as they were unable to get the records from Karachi.
On the court’s query, the NAB investigative officer presented a final report regarding absconder ex-MD PSO Shahid Ul Islam and informed that he is deliberately hide himself abroad and his whereabouts could not be traced. The NAB’s IO insisted the court to initiate proceedings of proclaimed offender against Shahid Ul Islam.
The case adjourned the hearing till June 11.
