LAHORE: The Lahore Sessions Court has announced its decision in the defamation case filed by singer Ali Zafar against Meeshal Shafi.
The court ordered Mashal Shafi to pay Rs. 5 million in damages. Ali Zafar had filed a suit seeking Rs.10 million in compensation after Shafi accused him of sexual harassment.
Additionally, the court prohibited Meeshal Shafi from posting about harassment on social media.
It is noteworthy that Mashal Shafi had accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment. In 2018, Ali Zafar filed a defamation suit against her.
A total of 20 witnesses’ testimonies were recorded in the case, which saw 284 hearings. During this period, nine judges were transferred.
