Maiden Victory For Lahore Qalandars In HBL PSL As It Defeated Multan Sultans By 42 Runs

Lahore: Lahore Qalandars have got their maiden victory in the history of HBL PSL as it defeated Multan Sultans by 42 runs

Chasing the handsome total of 181 runs, Multan Sultans led by Muhammad Rizwan, started the match brilliantly as the team had scored 36 runs in just three overs but scenario changed after first wicket fell in the fourth over.

As the time passed the Multan Sultan could not get initial momentum and lost wickets one by one. Their top order was demolished and failed to deliver.

Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed for 14, Shan Masood 19, and Aamer Azmat 6.

The Qalandars’ bowlers were impressive as Shaheen Afridi picked up three wickets, Mohammad Hafeez and Zaman Khan two each, and Haris Rauf and David Wiese one each.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars had set handsome total to Multan Sultans in the final match of HBL PSL seventh edition on Sunday at Qaddafi Stadium, Lahore.


Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has won the toss and elected to bat first against Multan Sultans led by Muhammad Rizwan.

In start, Lahore Qalandars lost three early wickets at the score of 25 runs.

Mohammad Hafeez’s sensible 69 runs and fiery cameos from Harry Brook and David Wiese in the death overs helped the Qalandars put up the stiff target after their initial setbacks.

A high quality of fielding witnessed in both the sides as impossible catches were caught today and players of both the teams showed brilliance, alertness and concentration during the fielding.
