BAJAUR: Security Forces successfully carried out an intelligence-driven operation in the Khar area of Bajaur District following credible reports of Khwarij presence linked to Indian-sponsored factions, specifically Fitna al Khwarij, as stated by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the operation, effective engagement by the security troops resulted in the elimination of five Indian-backed Khwarij militants. Tragically, during the intense firefight, Major Adeel Zaman, aged 36 and a resident of Dera Ismail Khan District, led from the front with valor. He fought bravely, but ultimately made the supreme sacrifice, embracing martyrdom.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities against security personnel and law enforcement agencies, as well as in the killing of innocent civilians.
Operation to clear the area of any remaining foreign-supported militants is underway. The ongoing Counter Terrorism campaign, under the vision “Azm e Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, remains in full force. Security forces and law enforcement agencies are determined to eliminate the threat posed by external sponsors of terrorism and ensure peace and stability across the nation.
