TURBAT: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that a concrete foundation for a strong pakistan has been laid during his three-year rule. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of 448-kilometer Hoshab-Pangur-Sorab road here he further said that his government is giving rights to people of Balochistan rights which are theirs to start with. A new Balochistan is in making which is really the making of a new Pakistan, he added.
The 448 kilometer road, which is important component of the Western Corridor of CPEC, has been completed at a cost of over 22 billion rupees to link Gwadar Port with National Highway network. It will also provide shortest link to Afghanistan and Central Asian Republics.
The project was completed by Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) at a cost of approximately Rs22billion. It comprises of a total of 16 bridges and 1,502 culverts. It will link Gwadar Port with the National Highway network near Surab, Quetta and other parts of the country.
The road will also provide shortest link to Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries with Gwadar Port and also resulted in the completion of the vital North-South road. with the completion of this project, the vital North-South road connectivity has also been completed.
The project completed is termed an important part of the western corridor of CPEC.
Addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister lashed out at his opponents and critics, adding that roads are built by those with vision, building of road will usher in business, trade, and economic progress which in turn will create employment and fuel educational activities and will also give farmers an easy access to markets.
Balochistan was kept away from progress in the past, those before us missed a unique opportunity for Pakistan’s progress. he said. Friends are happy with CPEC project while enemies try to harm it, he added. the prime minister lauded those who sacrificed their lives in the construction of the road.
Serving people is the only route to reach helms of power and affairs and we are ones who followed that route. The decision in 2018 will be made by people through their votes, he added.
