KARACHI: A man was found dead with signs of severe torture inside a flat in Abbas Town, located along Abul Hasan Isphahani Road, on Wednesday.
Rescue personnel said the victim had apparently been subjected to brutal torture before his death. They added that one of his ears had also been severed.
Meanwhile, police recovered another body near Siemens Roundabout in the SITE Area.
Police officials said the cause of death in the second case had not yet been established, adding that an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Two suspected members of rickshaw gang arrested
In a separate development, Gulshan Iqbal police arrested two alleged members of a rickshaw gang suspected of robbing passengers at gunpoint in different parts of Karachi.
The suspects were identified as Nisar, son of Ghulam Shabbir, and Mujahid Hussain, son of Saeen Bux.
SSP East Zubair Nazir Shaikh said the suspects allegedly picked up passengers in their rickshaw before threatening them with weapons and stealing their mobile phones and other valuables.
He said the suspects would then flee the scene after carrying out the robberies.
According to East Zone police, an illegal weapon and a snatched mobile phone were recovered from the suspects.
Police also seized the rickshaw allegedly used in the robberies and registered a case against the arrested men.
