PARIS: Police have arrested a man who climbed the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Tuesday.
Specialist climbers from the city’s firefighting force were deployed to persuade the man to come down after he had scaled 300 metres up the city landmark.
The unknown intruder was seen standing in the ironworks just under the third and highest level of the famous monument.
Earlier, firefighters are at the scene established contact with the man climbing the tower, a spokesman for the fire brigade said.
Officials haven’t immediately provided further information about the incident, and it’s not known when the Eiffel Tower will reopen.
