ISLAMABAD: Shaheed Major Muhammad Awais laid to rest with full military honor DG ISPR said that the events of May 9 are not just a case for the armed forces but represent the sentiments of the entire nation.
According to the Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), Major Awais was martyred while courageously combating terrorists in North Waziristan yesterday.
Senior officers and soldiers from Pakistan Army, along with a large number of local elders participated in the funeral prayer.
The ISPR said that country’s security forces remain resolute to eradicate terrorism, and the sacrifices of martyrs like Major Awais Shaheed only strengthen their determination
“If armed groups impose their will without lawful intervention, it endangers the fabric of society,” he warned.
The Pakistan Army spokesperson said in 2023, following directives from the judiciary, specific cases from May 9 were transferred to military courts.
