LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, marked her 52nd birthday on Tuesday with celebrations organized by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers nationwide.
Born on October 28, 1973, Maryam Nawaz married Captain (Retd) Safdar in 1992. Renowned for her academic achievements, she stepped into politics in 2013. That same year, she played a pivotal role in leading the PML-N’s campaign during the general elections, which resulted in her father assuming the prime minister’s office for the third time.
Beyond her political endeavors, Maryam Nawaz has been an advocate for women’s empowerment and education for girls. Her efforts attracted international acclaim, including recognition from a British media outlet that ranked her among the 100 most influential daughters of prominent world leaders during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure.
Punjab’s Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Zahid Bokhari, extended her congratulations to Maryam Nawaz, acknowledging her contributions to Punjab’s development. She expressed appreciation for her leadership and dedicated public service.
