TOKYO: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that soon the infrastructure in Punjab will be brought up to Japanese standards. She stated that people from all over Pakistan come to Punjab for treatment.
Speaking to the Pakistani community in Tokyo, Maryam Nawaz said that positive news about Pakistan is starting to emerge, and more good news will follow. She emphasized that overseas Pakistanis play a significant role in the country’s economic improvement. She noted that inflation, which was 38% a few months ago, has been reduced to 3% under the Pakistan Muslim League (N) government.
Maryam Nawaz further said that Punjab’s infrastructure will soon match Japanese standards. She also mentioned that medicines are now available in Punjab hospitals, and people from across Pakistan are coming there for treatment.
She highlighted the launch of the world’s largest sanitation project, “Suthra Punjab,” in the province. She added that 150,000 jobs have been created in Punjab to keep the city clean, and Japan will be brought in to help improve sanitation and environmental conditions through advanced technology.
The Chief Minister credited Nawaz Sharif for strengthening the country’s economy by constructing roads. She also announced that the largest cancer hospital in South Asia, the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital, is under construction. She praised Shahbaz Sharif for working tirelessly from 7 am to midnight to address national issues.
Maryam Nawaz revealed plans to build 500,000 houses for the poor over the next five years, with 100,000 houses to be completed by December. She further added that by December, 1,100 electric buses will be operational on Punjab’s roads, with fares as low as 20 rupees. Additionally, she announced that 50,000 scholarships and one lakh laptops will be distributed to deserving children.
