Maryam Nawaz launches “Suthra Punjab Program” to improve cleanliness across the Province

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif today inaugurated the “Suthra Punjab Program” in Lahore, a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing cleanliness in both urban and rural areas of the province.

The program, which focuses on a public-private partnership, is designed to bring about significant improvements in sanitation and waste management across Punjab.

At the launch ceremony, Maryam Nawaz set an ambitious three-month target to achieve zero waste across the province. She emphasized that the Punjab government is fully committed to improving the environment and public health by addressing the growing challenges of waste management.

The Chief Minister also announced that billions of rupees have been allocated for the procurement of more than 21,000 modern cleaning machines and an additional 81,000 devices to bolster the province’s sanitation efforts. These investments are part of a broader strategy to create a cleaner, healthier Punjab for all citizens.

Through the “Suthra Punjab Program,” the provincial government aims to set a new standard for cleanliness, with an emphasis on sustainable waste management practices and greater community engagement.
