May 09 riot and blockade case, charges filed against six PTI miscreant

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad has indicted six PTI workers in the May 9 violence and blockade case.

Judge Tahir Abbas Supra presided over the hearing, during which the accused denied their charges. So far, charges have been brought against 42 suspects in this case.

The court has adjourned the hearing until July 3. An FIR has been registered against PTI workers at Shams Colony police station.

It is recalled that on May 9, following PTI founder Imran Khan’s arrest by the Islamabad High Court, the party staged nationwide violent protests.

During these protests, sensitive government installations and buildings were targeted. PTI workers also protested outside the General Headquarters (GHQ) and caused destruction, while several government properties, including Jinnah House in Lahore and Radio Pakistan Peshawar, were set on fire.
